Week 13

The start of the week was spent by going through the design document, looking for any mistakes, then during the team meeting on Monday, to go through each person’s changes and modify them. The rest of the week was spent by Nick and Matt practicing the presentations, where I provided some feedback when they rehearsed it. Overall, I thought that presentation went well.

Week 12

After meeting up on Monday to discuss the milestone, it was eventually decided after discussing it with a supervisor, that the statistics section could be removed from the level design. In its place, it was decided, that we could include a game balancing section, which I details briefly how we will need to balance out the level in terms of npc interaction and pickups. The Visio plans were also created, between me and James, and Nick contributing to the creation of these, although it was decided that James’ side views were no longer needed. Eventually I altered the Visio maps, after discussing it with the team, just to give them a more uniform structure.

Week 10 & 11

After last weeks team meeting, I focused on practicing the presentation over the weekend, making sure I was able to remember everything I would talk about, in addition to the points on the presentation. This also continued throughout the week, until Wednesday, where we showed Amanda our presentation so far, in which she had a few points that could be changed in the presentation.

In my opinion, the presentation went well, and after it was completed we agreed on spending the weekend doing other module work. The role of Milestone Manager has also been passed to Matt, in which he assigned tasks to group members, and from Monday the 3rd, we began working on the level planning After discussing several possibilities, and creating a basic flow for the level during the team meeting, I created some basic Visio plants for the level, and then on the following day, as a team each taking one part of the level, used these plans to create a more detailed layout to show the supervisors. I started writing the level content section of the document, taking the statistics of a level in Half-Life 2, and helping Nick with said statistics and the GUI section.
